EDIT 2: Since I had some stuff to do since the 2nd deadline had been and there haven't been anymore entries I'm finally terminating this. I'm pretty sad this had to happen but I guess next time I will have to promote my contests a little more. The only two participants will receive a little expense allowance. Here are their entries:

EDIT: Due to the Holidays I have decided that I will give you another 2 weeks to send in your entries. The official deadline was last night at midnight. Since there are only 2 entries so far and since I had the impression that a couple of you seemed to be interested in participating I will extend the deadline.

The new Deadline will be on the 15th of January 2013 0:00 GMT+1:00.

If I don't have at least 5 entries until the new deadline I will terminate the Contest and all participants will receive some sort of expense allowance!


Hello fellow deviants, watchers and friends

It's been a while since I last offered a contest and actually I never really finished my first as I had to give up on it due to a sudden change in my real life.

But whatever...

I finally decided to set up a NEW contest (instead of reviving the last). Since I don't have the funds to offer god knows what as a prize it would be great if someone could donate something (whatever it is) - Please scroll down to read more!

Over the past week or two I had a poll asking for desired mediums and the Fractal Medium with 31 votes is far the highest, followed by Drawing&Painting with 3 votes

Because of some suggestions in the poll comments I decided to offer the option for a second Medium.

So here is a short list of infos:

Topic: Wishes and Nightmares (Please read the details at the end of this article!)
Allowed Mediums: Raw Fractal, Fractal Manipulation, Digital/Traditional Drawing&Painting, Mixed Media (as in Mixing Fractal Art with Drawing&Painting)
Deadline: 31st of December 2012 at 11:59 PM GMT+1:00 (Convert your time here: [link] ) - The process of judging may take a little longer due to holidays!
Who may participate: Whoever wants - no need to sign up or anything
How to participate:  Just send a NOTE with your entry before the Deadline! Be aware: comments with links to entries won'T be accepted. Notes only!

So what about that "Wishes and Nightmares" Topic?

Yeah. I somewhat wanted something that isn't TOO seasonal and of all the things I had in mind this one was the most suitable for the Fractal as well as the Drawing&Painting Medium.

Here's the deal

I want you to create a picture that includes BOTH a heartfelt wish and a true nightmare. It can be fictional but it also can be personal. Don't just pick random wishes and nightmares as both have to be related to each other in some ways without actually being related at all:

Examples:
Wish is eternal Love - Nightmare is eternal Hate: This would be too easy and too obvious
Wish is to win the lottery - Nightmare is loosing friends: In this case both things aren't obviously related but by reading between the lines and imagining the situations you can find a relation anyways

So you see - red example bad green examples good

There is another thing that is an ABSOLUTE MUST include!!!
Please put your chosen Wish and your chosen Nightmare into the Artist's Comment - especially for abstract pieces that would be a great judging help.
